A Mexico-based airline operator has selected a Rockwell Collins-built technology platform to help expedite the check-in process for travelers who arrive at eight airports in the country.

Rockwell Collins said Monday it will provide ARINC vMulti-User System Environment Common Use Passenger Processing Systems to Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, also called OMA, for implementation at the Mexican airports.

The system is designed to comply with the international CUPPS standard and works to facilitate sharing of common terminal facilities, such as shared check-in areas and/or boarding gates, among multiple airlines.

OMA has deployed vMUSE system to two airports located in Mazatlan and Zihuatanejo.

Rockwell Collins noted it expects to complete installation of the system at Mexico’s Acapulco, Chihuahua, Culiacan, Monterrey, Reynosa and San Luis Potosi airports by 2019.
