Ball Aerospace to Provide Antenna Systems for BAE Systems' Navy Network Effort - top government contractors - best government contracting eventBAE Systems has selected Ball Aerospace to provide multi-beam phased array antenna systems in support of the former’s contractual effort to build a Network Tactical Common Data Link System for the U.S. Navy.

A Ball-made Ku-band phased array antenna suite will be used as components for the NTCDL system that is being designed to support high-bandwidth communications connections throughout the Navy, Ball said Tuesday.

The antennas will make use of silicon germanium technologies to function as a low-profile transmitter/receiver.

The Navy will install the antennas on its aircraft carriers to establish communications with a wide variety of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

Ball will develop and manufacture the antennas in the company’s Westminster, Colo., facility.
