Buemi has held executive management positions over 28 years in the clean energy, information technology and consumer products industries and has worked in the photovoltaics industry since 1999.

At Gehrlicher, Buemi has helped the company secure a GSA Schedule listing for solar energy integration services as part of his core focus of leading the company’s entry into U.S. federal agency markets.

He has also helped Gehrlicher:

  • attain a prime award for large solar projects on the Army Renewable Energy Multiple Award Task Order Contract
  • gain inclusion in the Office of the Secretary of Defense Energy Conservation Investment Program
  • earn a qualified energy services company designation from the U.S. Energy Department

Across his career in executive leadership, Buemi has worked for a range of enterprises from entrepreneurial firms to Fortune 100 companies, specializing in strategic planning, sales and marketing management and government business development.

These include BrightPhase Energy, Inc., DayStar Technologies, Inc., LG Electronics Corp, Solar Frontier K.K. and Suniva, Inc. 

He blogs regularly on the solar industry at his website www.davebuemi.com and is passionate about reducing energy costs and providing energy security for federal agencies through photovoltaic-centered energy solutions.

Buemi  says the solutions are “an essential clean energy component for mitigating the looming sustainability challenges facing global ecosystems.”

He frequently speaks on solar and clean energy solutions and earth sustainability and advises the Maryland Clean Energy Center. Buemi is also a member of the Defense Energy working group of the American Council on Renewable Energy and the Solar Energy Industries of America.

Buemi competed for the 1976 and 1980 U.S. Olympic sailing teams while studying engineering at SUNY Selden.
