b-w world-peoplePaula Hammond, a Parsons Brinckerhoff senior vice president based in its Seattle office, has been elected to serve on the board of directors at WTS International, a global organization representing women in the transportation industry.

The WTS has more than 5,000 members and works to help women find career opportunities and be recognized in the transportation industry, Parsons Brinckerhoff announced Wednesday.

“The WTS board provides leadership for the director of the organization to accomplish effective strategies that achieve these goals,” Hammond said.

“I have worked throughout my career to support, mentor, and promote women in transportation and I am proud to continue to contribute to this effort by helping shape the organization’s future direction,”

She joined Parsons Brinckerhoff in September 2013 and has served as national transportation market leader, where she worked with transportation agencies in the country to move forward transportation policies and programs.

Hammond has also served as secretary of transportation for the state of Washington.
