ATK-logo_EbizBart Olson serves as vice president of strategy and business development at ATK‘s defense segment and is responsible for functions related to strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions, industry outreach and pursuits.

Olson also serves on the board of directors for ATK’s Employee Citizenship Fund.

His career prior to ATK includes time at other government contractors in research, engineering and business pursuit functions.

He joined the GovCon industry after service in the U.S. Air Force as a deputy director of engineering and project officer on the Small Intercontinental Ballistic Missile and Peacekeeper programs.

At ATK, his roles have included service as interim president, VP for strategy and business development of ATK’s missile products group, VP and GM of tactical propulsion and controls and another VP and GM post for Elkton operations.

He has also served as the director of missile defense programs at Elkton Operations and on the boards of directors for ATK’s COIC subsidiary and for Maryland’s Mid-Atlantic Institute for Science and Technology.

Olson has published five technical papers on topics ranging from propulsion to missile defense performance studies.
