McKessonMcKesson has named Bansi Nagji executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development and successor to Brian Tyler, who has taken the newly created role of president for North American pharmaceutical distribution and services.

“Bansi brings strong international strategy experience to the McKesson executive team, along with deep innovation, leadership and marketing expertise,” John Hammergren, McKesson chairman, president and CEO, said Tuesday.

“He will provide a valuable and unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare as reform drives further transformation throughout the industry.”

Nagji previously worked as head of Deloitte‘s U.S. and global strategy consulting practice and president of management consulting firm Monitor Group, which Deloitte acquired in 2013.

He brings at least 20 years of experience in the life sciences and consumer industries and will report directly to Hammergren.

Tyler’s new role is the result of McKesson’s acquisition of Celesio and includes responsibility for their pharmaceutical businesses in North America.

“In conjunction with our Celesio leadership team, Brian will lead our efforts to maximize operational excellence and facilitate collaboration across our businesses to benefit our customers and business partners,” Hammergren said.

Tyler has worked at McKesson for 18 years and will report to Paul Julian, EVP and group president at the company.
