Michael Flynn, former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, has been appointed to the advisory board of Brainwave Science.

“We are thrilled to have attracted to our advisory board such [a] prominent and decorated General who shares our interest in transforming the landscape through technological innovation in law enforcement, counterterrorism and counterintelligence agencies particularly in the field of investigations and interrogations,” Krishna Ika, president and CEO of Brainwave Science, said in a statement issued Tuesday.

Brainwave Science is a Massachusetts-based provider of brain fingerprinting technology.

At DIA, Flynn also led the Defense Department’s Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance.

He has managed partner development and engagement responsibilities as the assistant director of national intelligence for partner engagement.

Flynn has also served as director of intelligence for the Joint Special Operations Command and senior intelligence adviser to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
