STEMSAP will collaborate with the White House on an initiative that seeks to help K-12 students develop skills in the field of business and computer science.

The company will award $2.4 million in grants to nonprofit institutions to help promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics and computer science education to at least 700,000 K-12 students under the Computer Science for All program, SAP said Wednesday.

SAP plans to leverage its alliance network with nearly 500 U.S. universities and encourage students to take part in hackathons, SAP InnoJam, SAP CodeJam and other workshops in order to promote STEM and CS education under the initiative.

The company will also support firms within its ecosystem to promote STEM and CS education through curriculum mapping as well as facilitate partnerships among high schools, universities and community-based institutions.
