KPMGKPMG has inaugurated a new college scholarship, mentoring and leadership development program for female high school seniors in the U.S. and appointed former state secretary Condoleezza Rice as the ambassador.

The professional service firm said Wednesday 16 scholars have been chosen for the first batch of its KPMG Future Leaders Program.

KPMG added the recipients will receive $10,000 for each year of college, attend the three-day KPMG Future Leaders Retreat in July at Stanford University which covers leadership training, career development skills and an introduction to golf.

Each scholar will also be paired with a woman leader from the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit for mentorship, the company noted.

The leadership program is funded through proceeds from the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit.

The first batch of recipients were selected based on academic performance, interest in a business or a science, technology, engineering and math academic career; community engagement and financial need, KPMG noted.
