Microsoft to Offer Cybersecurity Administration Training for Military Vets - top government contractors - best government contracting eventMicrosoft has introduced a cybersecurity learning path under the company’s technology training program for military veterans and transitioning service members.

The company said its Microsoft Software & Systems Academy will offer the Cybersecurity Administration program that will tackle access controls; cryptology; risk identification, monitoring and analysis; incident response and recovery; and network and communications security.

“The increased demand for cybersecurity professionals presents a great opportunity for military personnel to train for a long-term, meaningful career that will benefit both them and the tech industry,” said Chris Cortez, vice president of military affairs at Microsoft.

MSSA students can also take (ISC)2’s Systems Security Certified Practitioner test that works to validate whether an individual has technical and practical skills needed for professional cybersecurity roles.

Microsoft noted MSSA graduates can obtain up to 18 college credit hours for a degree program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

MSSA is an 18-week course designed to help veterans and transitioning service members gain necessary skills to land jobs in the tech industry.

The program currently offers training in cloud application development, server and cloud administration and database and business intelligence administration.
