Inmarsat Lands MSUA Govt Mobility Satcom Award for L-Band Service; Steve Gizinski Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventInmarsat has received a Mobility Satellite Innovation Award from the Mobile Satellite Users Association for the company’s L-band service meant to support airborne, maritime and expeditionary missions.

MSUA presented the 2017 Top Government Mobility Satcom Innovation award to Inmarsat in recognition of its Wideband Streaming L-band service at the Satellite Conference held in Washington, the company said Tuesday.

Steve Gizinski, vice president of special programs at Inmarsat’s U.S. government business unit, said the company developed WiSL to help address customer demand for high-throughput smaller form factor antennas designed for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, process, exploitation and dissemination activities.

The company noted its government customers use the L-band space and ground network to connect and transmit data via micro antennas.

Inmarsat won a similar award from MSUA last year for the Global Xpress satellite broadband service.
