Gabrielle Costigan, formerly CEO of Asia at logistics and supply chain firm Linfox International Group, has been appointed CEO of BAE Systems’ Australian business.

Costigan will join the company on Oct. 2 and will succeed Glynn Phillips as CEO of BAE Systems Australia in March 2018 following a global transition initiative, the company said Monday.

Phillips, who has been CEO of BAE’s Australian business since 2015, will transition to a new senior position within the defense company upon his return to the U.K.

“Gabby has a wealth of experience gained from leadership roles in the corporate logistics and aviation sectors, and this is complemented by her deep experience in the military, including a 20-year career with the Australian Defense Force,” said Ian Watt, nonexecutive chairman of BAE’s Australian arm.

Prior to Linfox, Costigan spent two years at VAS Aero Services as vice president of military programs and business development commercial aircraft.

She also served as director of multinational logistics at the U.S. Central Command in Florida for more than two years.

Costigan held senior logistics and engineering roles during her military career.
