Engility Awards Cyber Scholarships to 2 Army Veterans; Lynn Dugle Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventEngility has selected U.S. Army veterans Magdalena Seitz and Leo Bastidas as the first two recipients of the company’s cybersecurity scholarships.

The company said Wednesday it partnered with the Center for Cyber Safety and Education to establish the CyberWarrior Scholarship, which will give military veterans funds to pursue cybersecurity certifications.

“We are grateful for our veterans’ commitment to continue to serve their country in a critical defense field like cybersecurity,” said Engility CEO Lynn Dugle, a 2018 Wash100 inductee.

“Combing through the applications and reading story after story of incredible strength, bravery and duty to country was humbling, and we will continue to look for ways to serve those who served us,” Dugle added.

The scholarships will cover everything the awardees need to gain cybersecurity certification, including training classes, textbooks, materials and (ISC)2 certification tests.

Engility noted that the program focused on (ISC)² certifications known as Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional, Certified Authorization Professional and Systems Security Certified Practitioner.

After training, the scholars can secure jobs such as security analyst, security engineer, security auditor and security architect.
