AECOM Gets Navy Contract for Airfield Facilities Construction - top government contractors - best government contracting eventAECOM‘s construction business will build airfield facilities at an Australian air force base under a potential $24.1 million contract from the U.S. Navy. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command at Pearl Harbor received four proposals through a competitive procurement via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website.

The contract includes the construction of four concrete-paved parking aprons with asphalt shoulders and four Type III hydrant fuel pits with a connection to existing fuel lines, the Defense Department said Friday.

The company will also relocate the present isolation valve pits for fuel, construct an access drive with asphalt and install airfield equipment such as ground lighting, jet blast deflectors and a collection and treatment system for stormwater.

Work will take place in Darwin, Australia through October 2019.

Fiscal 2017 military construction contract funds of the U.S. Air Force will cover the base value and obligated amount of $23.7 million at the time of the award.
