Leidos to Assist Navy in Undersea Medical Research Efforts - top government contractors - best government contracting eventLeidos has secured a potential five-year, $28.5 million contract to help a U.S. Navy  laboratory study the biomedical aspects of the military branch’s submarine fleet operations.

The Defense Department said Tuesday the company will support the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory in Groton, Conn., through May 31, 2023 under the  indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

Fiscal 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds totaling $265,000 will cover the obligated amount for the task orders at the time of award.

The Naval Medical Logistics Command received one offer for the IDIQ through a competitive procurement on FedBizOpps.

NSMRL conducts research into undersea human factors, operational medicine and sensory sciences to support the healthcare requirements of the Navy’s submarine force.
