Report: Booz Allen Hamilton Supports FDA Pilot Project for Healthcare Blockchain - top government contractors - best government contracting eventBooz Allen Hamilton has developed a platform to help the Food and Drug Administration‘s Office of Translational Sciences explore healthcare blockchain technology, GCN reported Friday.

The platform is built on the InterPlanetary File System for encryption and reduced data duplication purposes, and uses Ethereum for data access management on private networks, the report said.

Lauren Neal, a principal at the company, said the system will feature off-chain functions and cryptographic algorithms. She detailed that the platform employs Docker containers and an architecture for distributed microservices to allow service isolation, resource delegation and individual components development.

The pilot project, currently implemented at four major hospitals, will support health care providers and medical facilities, the publication said.

The agency intends to expand the program to 20 hospitals by the end of 2018.
