Northrop GrummanNorthrop Awarded Supplemental Agreement for Marine Radar Engineering Support - top government contractors - best government contracting event has received a potential $35.8 million supplemental agreement to engineer software for the U.S. Marine Corps‘ Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar systems with gallium nitride technology.

The company will also help the service branch develop an engineering change proposal required to support the G/ATOR program, the Defense Department said Friday.

G/ATOR is designed integrate with DoD’s command-and-control systems and works to help Marines detect and track hostile threats.

Northrop will perform contract work for USMC’s program executive office for land systems division and is scheduled to complete the work by April 22, 2021.

The service branch will obligate $662,807 in fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.

USMC approved the system for operational deployment in February.
