Army Taps MELD Manufacturing to Support Technology Modernization Effort - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Army has selected Meld Manufacturing to take part in a program aiming to help the service branch overcome modernization challenges.

The company said Wednesday its patented MELD metal manufacturing technology will be part of the Army’s Expeditionary Technology Search program, which gathers collaborators to support the service branch’s modernization.

Chase Cox, additive manufacturing manager at MELD, said that the technology works to create, connect, coat and repair a range of novel metallic materials, and allow manufacturers to use unweldable metals.

He added that the technology does not require laboratory environment and is suited for on-demand manufacturing activities in the battlefield.
