Splunk said Wednesday its Enterprise and IT Service Intelligence systems run on NIF’s Computer Control System built to monitor more than 66K control points across the laser facility.

Enterprise works to help the facility’s personnel collect information from applications, sensors and operational database, as well as predict unusual system behavior.

NIF uses the ITSI technology in efforts to detect when sensors start to decay and the company’s internet-of-things use cases that include analytics and diagnostics on multiple sensors.

The National Nuclear Security Administration-funded facility manages the security of the country’s nuclear stockpile and conducts experiments in the fusion ignition, materials and nuclear science, astrophysics areas.
