The Association of the U.S. Army has selected Roger Krone, chairman and CEO of Leidos, to receive AUSA’s 2018 John W. Dixon Award in recognition of his contributions to national defense programs.

“I dedicated my own career to ensuring our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines were able to do their jobs with the best technology,” Krone said in a statement released Monday.

“The Leidos team also takes pride in knowing that we execute important tasks that support our soldiers in harm’s way.”

The Reston, Va.-based company helps secure the Defense Department‘s global information network; supports foreign language translation efforts at the Defense Intelligence Agency; and provides information technology services to the military health system.

Leidos noted it invests in artificial intelligence, big data, simulation, logistics, reconnaissance and command-and-control technologies to support Army missions.

Krone, a five-time Wash100 recipient, supports the military branch through multiple programs that include the Operation Drug-Free Communities initiative.
