Leidos Expresses Confidence in MFEW Air Large Proposal for Army - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The U.S. Army is set to procure an aerial pod that can seize enemy systems and equip bridge combat teams with additional technologies needed to counter adversaries, C4ISRNET reported Saturday.

Through the Multi-Function Electronic Warfare Air Large program, the service seeks to procure a pod that can deliver electronic attack and support, provide cybersecurity and signals intelligence capabilities and invade Wi-Fi networks to disrupt enemy communication networks.

Leidos expressed confidence that its MFEW Air Large proposal will meet the Army’s requirements to deliver offensive electronic attack and support capabilities to brigade commanders.

Adam Hinsdale, project director with Leidos, said having all computing power onboard will enable the pod to perform its mission in a contested environment.

He added that providing forces with vision-based systems to locate aircraft flying over a global positioning system-denied environment will allow SIGINT information to provide accurate data.

The Army plans to procure and install an MFEW Air Large aerial pod on the MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft system in 2019.
