MeriTalk said Monday the study, jointly underwritten by Riverbed Technology and Tech Data‘s government solutions business, also found that 98 percent of federal IT leaders report seeing progress in government cloud migration efforts, partly driven by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act.

Fifty percent said cloud adoption and network modernization efforts can help agencies manage data services and cybersecurity of systems while 83 percent consider digital performance management as a driving force to achieve cloud adoption goals.

The survey also found that 67 percent of legacy government network assets are not prepared for a cloud transition or adapt to modern networks.

Federal IT leaders noted that agencies must address network complexity, performance and visibility issues in order to fully migrate to cloud environments, according to the study.
