AT&T Adds New Applications in FirstNet App Catalog for First Responders - top government contractors - best government contracting eventAT&T has added new applications in the FirstNet App Catalog to further support FirstNet subscribers with their public safety operations.

The company said Thursday that some of the new programs include Explorer for ArcGIS, Intrepid Response, NetMotion, PulsePoint and SceneDoc.

The mobile apps can be used for mapping and data viewing, location and information sharing, app traffic management, first aid crowdsourcing and digital evidence organization.

AT&T also plans to introduce bundles of complementary apps in the FirstNet App Catalog to increase the situational awareness of first responders and streamline their missions.

Additionally, the telecommunications firm will launch a hackathon event at the Illinois Institute of Technology on Friday and Saturday to encourage developers to produce public safety systems on common and open standards.

Participants of the FirstNet hackathon will be directed to develop apps that will help first responders and public safety authorities to perform their missions, increase their relationships with civilians and address specific challenges in Chicago.
