Vector Partners With USAF for Launch System R&D Efforts - top government contractors - best government contracting eventVector and the U.S. Air Force Space Command and Missile Systems Center will jointly engage in research and development on launch services under a new partnership.

The company said Tuesday it will work to address the Air Force’s launch technology and mission needs under a new cooperative research and development agreement with SMC’s Space Superiority Directorate.

The new one-year agreement follows Vector’s existing partnership with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Based at Los Angeles Air Force Base, SMC is charged with on-orbit check-out, sustainment, maintenance and testing of the Defense Department‘s space assets.
