Leidos to Develop Navy Submarine Torpedo Countermeasure Platform; Gerry Fasano Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Leidos has received a potential five-year, $36M contract to help the U.S. Navy‘s Naval Sea Systems Command develop an acoustic device countermeasure for the military service to guard submarines against torpedoes.

Work covers the design, development and test of ADC MK5 technology as well as engineering and technical support services as part of the Next Generation Countermeasure program, the company said Thursday.

“This win opens a new market for our organization in underwater sensors,” said Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos’ defense group.

“We employ a different mindset on how to keep up in a dynamic and rapidly changing defense environment where world class systems are the only option for our defense customers to accomplish their missions,” Fasano added.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract has two base years and three one-year options.

Leidos will carry out the project at various facilities California, Florida, Northern Virginia, Ohio and Washington.
