Booz Allen to Develop Handheld Biometric Tech for DoD - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Booz Allen Hamilton has won a potential five-year, $36.6M contract from the U.S. Navy to develop portable biometric hardware for the Department of Defense.

DoD said Wednesday the company will update the current Identity Dominance System configuration and replace the integrated base unit with a new handheld technology.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division received three offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract and the service branch will obligate $1.5M at the time of award.

Work will take place in McLean, Va. and is scheduled to conclude in January 2024.

Naval Surface Warfare Center competitively procured the contract on a full and open basis with three proposals received.

IDS is a multimodal biometric tool that allows users to share, gather, store and match identification data.
