Leidos has awarded DataPath a subcontract to provide hardware and software Integration services for a National Science Foundation-managed government communications program in the Atlantic region.

DataPath said Monday it will integrate the MaxView network monitor and control application with equipment for a geosynchronous communications satellite earth terminal to be built at the McMurdo Station, which serves as the logistics hub of the U.S. Antarctic Program.

The company will also incorporate a terminal satellite contact automation tool for the the Ross Island Earth Station into the program’s MaxView Enterprise environment. The RIES construction project is part of the McMurdo Commercial Satellite Communications Modernization program and will implement a new system designed to meet or exceed the output of a 13-meter class antenna.

The antenna will be installed approximately 1,500 feet from the station’s primary equipment room.

Leidos is contracted to manage USAP’s communications ground network that supports satellite ground terminals located in New Zealand and at McMurdo, Amundsen-Scott Palmer stations.
