QTS to Implement Ciena Server to Support Software-Based Interconnection - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Ciena has been selected by QTS Realty Trust to provide a server platform to help address the latter’s bandwidth and encryption requirements for in-flight data security efforts.

QTS said Wednesday it will deploy the Waveserver Ai to support the Switchboard interconnection offering that uses a single port to facilitate one-to-many carrier, long-haul, local, metro and cloud connectivity for government and enterprise clients.

Waveserver Ai is designed to process data at a speed of 2.4 terabytes per second and manage bandwidth-heavy content as well as transmit workloads to data centers.

The partnership will allow QTS to provide layer 1 encryption through Ciena’s FIPS-compliant encryption module, allowing for the protection of highly sensitive data to support federal government customers.

QTS noted it uses a software-defined technology platform that houses Switchboard in order to provide colocation and hyperscale data center, connectivity and support services to public and private sector organizations.
