Collins Aerospace, University of Iowa Conclude Air Combat Training Tech Live Demo - top government contractors - best government contracting event

United Technology Corp.’s Collins Aerospace business and the University of Iowa have partnered to demonstrate the integration of secure live, virtual and constructive air combat training systems.

The firm said Wednesday its Joint Secure Air Combat Training System was integrated with the Modern Air Combat Environment application and ground platforms that support the Department of Defense’s Next Generation Threat System.

The JSAS tool is a blended training platform that uses data-link technologies and an open architecture to help address traditional training gaps and streamline obsolescence management functions.

The team also performed a simulated mission through the use of synthetic and live aircraft assets within a Multiple Independent Levels of Security Type-1 encrypted environment.

The event was attended by 20 representatives from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force branches.
