Terry Hagen: ISR Tech 'Primary Driver' for Jacobs-KeyW Deal - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Terry Hagen, president of the aerospace and technology business at Jacobs Engineering Group, has cited intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technology offerings as the key driver of interest for Jacobs’ plan to acquire KeyW for approximately $815M cash, the Dallas Business Journal reported Monday.

Jacobs seeks to combine ISR platforms with its buildings, infrastructure and advanced facilities unit in efforts to identify new business opportunities.

“Some of the proprietary technology that KeyW has — in terms of data collection and communication — we believe are directly applicable to the design and construction of smart cities, which is a focal area for the BIAF business,” Hagen told the Business Journal in an interview.

He added the pending merger offers an opportunity for both companies to apply a new capability across their customer base.

KeyW would also bring cyber, training and information technology platforms to the combined company, he noted.
