Northrop Grumman has secured a $65.9M contract modification to continue to develop an embedded GPS/inertial navigation system for the U.S. Air Force.

The company will aim to integrate an updated GPS receiver card into fielded systems and reduce the number of EGI configurations, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Work under the modification is initially scheduled to conclude by Nov. 27, 2020, and could extend for an additional two years if the service branch exercises all options.

The Air Force will obligate $13M in fiscal year 2019 research and development funds at the time of award.

This modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $125,011,413.

Northrop received a $59.1M contract in November of last year to perform EGI engineering, manufacturing and development services.
