Boeing has issued a total of $48M in charitable grants for fundraising programs of 404 organizations across 50 countries.

The grants include funds in the amount of $40M for business contributions, charitable contributions and employee giving, the company said Tuesday.

The additional $8M will support educational and workforce development efforts in science, technology, engineering and math areas.

This new grant package will enable Boeing to exceed $230M in corporate donations for this year.

Boeing will also provide $800K to fund the launching of Turkey-based Newton Flight Academy next year. The upcoming institution will aim to train secondary school students in flight-related STEM applications.

“Boeing’s people bring to life our values and our enduring commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Dennis Muilenburg, president and CEO at Boeing.
