Boeing has landed a six-year, $79.6M contract from the U.S. Air Force to commence the low-rate initial production of an electronic warfare system designed for the F-15 aircraft.
The company's contract work on the F-15 Eagle Passive Active Warning and Survivability System is expected to run through Dec. 31, 2026, and will take place in San Antonio, Texas, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded the contract to Boeing as the sole-source provider and obligated the full value from fiscal year 2020 production funds.
The company initially received a $478.8M USAF contract in 2016 to engineer, build and develop the F-15 EW system. Boeing also carried out planning, design development, integration, testing and risk reduction efforts in support of EPAWSS under the said contract.
EPAWSS offers fully integrated geo-location, situational awareness, self-protection and radar warning features to track and repel surface and airborne attacks.
