The Defense Logistics Agency intends to procure from Raytheon Technologies engineering services and other technical requirements needed to support the Patriot weapon system program efforts in the U.S. and international locations.

According to its presolicitation notice posted Friday on SAM.gov, the anticipated sole-source action onto Raytheon’s current indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has an $8 billion ceiling value, will provide for Patriot surface-to-air missile system spare parts, engineering services, training, repairs, maintenance, kits and performance-based logistics.

The IDIQ has a six-year base period and a four-year extension option that, if exercised, will bring the contract to its potential value. The award was made in September 2015.

Program and configuration management, software and system engineering, testing, logistics and product assurance are some of the engineering activities covered by the action.

Responses to the notice are due Oct. 29.

In 2020, Raytheon received a potential $6B contract modification from DLA for the delivery of Patriot components and engineering and repair services.

Some of the contractor’s responsibilities under the award were repair, maintenance, inventory management and depot-level support.
