State Department OKs Jordan's $70M FMS Request for Guided Multiple Launch Rockets - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The State Department has approved the government of Jordan’s request to purchase Lockheed Martin-made alternate warhead unitary rocket pods for guided multiple launch rocket systems under a potential $70 million foreign military sale transaction.

Jordan has ordered 114 GMLRS unitary high-explosive M31 rockets and 114 reduced-range practice rockets, which the sale would provide for if fully executed, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.

The potential sale would also include support equipment, technical documentation, personnel training, logistical and technical support and other programmatic services.

Lockheed’s missile and fire control business would serve as the principal contractor for the sale, which would not require the company nor the U.S. government to send representatives to Jordan.

The U.S. expects the sale to grant Jordan a long-range precision capability that would boost interoperability between the two countries.
