Guidehouse Wins Post on $650M VA Award for Digital Twin, Other Health Care Tech Development; Alicia Harkness Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Guidehouse has won a prime position on the Department of Veterans Affairs‘ $650 million Accelerating VA Innovation and Learning program in support of the Veterans Health Administration and the Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning

As tasked by the potential five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, Guidehouse will support the initiative’s goal of designing, testing and scaling health care products to bolster veteran care, the Washington, D.C.-based organization announced on Monday.

“This effort aligns our powerful combination of innovative digital and data transformation, commercial health care and public health expertise with our collective partner network, the type of collaboration and synergy that embodies why Guidehouse exists,” emphasized Alicia Harkness, Guidehouse partner and health segment leader.

Guidehouse won four out of five key task orders under the contract, making the company responsible for leading the development of a digital twin product intended to enhance the department’s health care construction, design and planning processes. Additionally, the contractor will pilot payment models to increase value across the areas of chronic conditions management, physical therapy care coordination and in-home care delivery.

In September, VA awarded 17 spots on the AVAIL program. It has task orders centered on digital care, personalized care, data transformation, immersive technology and care and service delivery models.

Aside from the AVAIL award, Guidehouse has worked with the department on a number of initiatives for over two decades. Guidehouse’s current areas of focus in this partnership include integrated veterans care, market area health system optimization, suicide prevention and others.

Most recently, the organization was a finalist in the department’s Mission Daybreak, a $20 million challenge calling for entities in industry and other areas to develop new suicide prevention strategies for veterans.

Earlier this year, Guidehouse won a five-year joint contract with ReefPoint Group to provide the department with consulting services regarding its environmental sustainability work.

Guidehouse has been recognized for its support of the military community. The company has been named a Military Friendly Employer and won the 2020 HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award for recruiting, hiring and maintaining veteran employees. Additionally, it was granted the Seven Seals Award for the organization’s dedication to its staff who actively serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
