CAES Achieves QML-V Rating for Low Voltage Differential Signaling Tech; Mike Elias Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

CAES has achieved the Defense Logistics Agency Qualified Manufacturers List Class V rating for its high-speed Low Voltage Differential Signaling technology, a protocol independent quad-channel repeater that uses differential signaling methodology to provide reliable communication.

The certification indicates that the device has passed intense evaluations used to ensure that space industry standards are met, the Arlington, Virginia-based company announced on Monday.

“CAES has over 30 years of history offering a strong portfolio of QML rated products that deliver the highest levels of assurance, reliability and quality for space. We are excited to add the high speed LVDS product to our growing QML portfolio to support your mission critical needs,” said Mike Elias, senior vice president of CAES’s space systems division.

The low power, high speed LVDS repeater is able to support 10 meters of cable up to 1.25 gigabits per second. It measures 9 by 10 millimeters in a ceramic package and provides the connectivity and SWaP performance necessary for modern space missions that require high bandwidth processors and FPGAs.

When using the device, customers are able to harness LVDS’ flexibility by pairing its cold-sparing feature with user-supplied external TX/RX data streams. The technology is designed to safeguard and buffer high-speed LVDS between FPGA’s and processors communicating off-board and in cold-spare platforms in satellites.

LVDS was recently used for NASA’s November launch of Artemis I along with numerous other microelectronics CAES provided for systems used on the mission, which include Orion and the SLS.

In July, CAES attained a QML-V rating for its Crosspoint Switch technology, a device intended for signal distribution, space VPX data plane switching applications, primary and redundant switching, port replications and high-speed serial repeater function.

The enterprise has also recently expanded its space portfolio to include the Lattice Semiconductor-made radiation-resistant Certus-NX-RT and CertusPro field-programmable gate arrays, which CAES is offering as reconfigurable satellite processing systems.
