General Dynamics Unit Books Navy Contract for Ship Repair, Maintenance & Modernization - top government contractors - best government contracting event

General Dynamics’ shipbuilding business has received a potential $43.1 million contract to help the U.S. Navy modernize, repair and maintain the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Sampson.

The Department of Defense said Tuesday General Dynamics NASSCO will work through September in Everett, Washington in a Chief of Naval Operations availability.

The award has a base value of $43.07 million and the contractor will receive the full potential amount if options are exercised.

$41 million or about 96 percent of the base value will be sourced from the service branch’s fiscal 2022 and 2023 other procurement funds while the remaining will be from fiscal 2023 Navy operations and maintenance funds as well as from working capital accounts.

The Northwest Regional Maintenance Center was the contracting activity and awarded the non-competitive contract on Feb. 13.
