NetApp's Data Management Software Granted FedRAMP, DOD Authorization for Use in AWS Regions; Liz Martin Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

NetApp has secured approval under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and from the Department of Defense for the availability of its ONTAP data management software on Amazon Web Services.

Amazon FSx for Windows File Server for ONTAP now has FedRAMP authorization under FedRAMP and is certified impact levels two, four and five of the DOD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide, NetApp announced Tuesday.

ONTAP is an operating system design for NetApp’s storage disk arrays. It can be used in building storage infrastructure with cloud security to streamline cybersecurity costs.

The software obtained FedRAMP High level in U.S. regions with AWS GovCloud, and Moderate level in northern Virginia, Ohio, northern California and Oregon. 

“Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP’s FedRAMP and DOD security validations offer organizations in the public sector a secure way to migrate their data to AWS, opening up opportunities to consume other AWS services and applications to drive efficiencies at scale,” said Liz Martin, director of DOD business at AWS.
