General Dynamics EbizGeneral Dynamics has awarded Ontario-based Data Cable a $1.89 million contract to supply cables and wiring harnesses for Canada’s fleet of light armored vehicles, Ottawa Citizen reported Wednesday.

According to David Pugliese’s article, Data Cable wires will be linked to personnel carriers’ turrets and chassis that are used to power vehicle subsystems.

General Dynamics’ land systems business and Data Cable have worked together for more than 15 years on the Canadian LAV program.

“The assemblies we are making vary from power distribution components, similar to a battery cable in a car, to fairly complex vehicle control and monitoring harnesses,” David Gillies, Data Cable development manager, was quoted as saying.
