Merlin International has won a five-year contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide antivirus, host intrusion prevention and anti-spyware/malware services and supporting technologies through its partnerships with McAfee, NetApp, Cisco and F5 Networks.
Merlin said Thursday that the VA may also procure $21 million in solution, infrastructure and storage components from Merlin’s partners, as well as $27 million in project management, engineering and operation and maintenance services for the Office of Information and Technology.
“This recent award with Merlin takes the McAfee-VA partnership to a new level. Our next generation framework will ensure the VA network has an even higher level of cybersecurity resilience,” said Ken Kartsen, McAfee Federal vice president.
Merlin and the VA have been partnering for ten years, according to the release.
“We are excited about this new award and look forward to continuing our support of the VA mission and to help enhance and strengthen their IT infrastructure,” said Kevin Gordon, Merlin’s senior vice president of sales.
