rocket launchATK will provide hardware to the United Launch Alliance for the Atlas V and Delta IV launch vehicles under a potential $178 million subcontract.

ATK said Wednesday the order is for the U.S. Air Force‘s Phase 1 Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle program and includes large composite structures such as payload adapters, interstages and nose cones.

ULA is a 50-50 joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

“Our ongoing support of ULA missions is a critical element of our business, and we are proud to provide support for these successful programs,” said Joy de Lisser, vice president and general manager of ATK’s aerospace structures unit.

ATK will assemble the hardware at its Large Structures Center of Excellence facility in Iuka, Miss.

The contract covers a base period of between fiscal 2014 and early fiscal 2018, as well as options for deliveries between fiscal 2017 and 2019.
