CA-technologies-logo EbizCA Technologies has joined a cybersecurity alliance that seeks to craft multi-factor authentication standards for securing online transactions.

The company sought to bring its experience in securing identities and data access to the Fast IDentity Online group, CA said Tuesday.

“The market has been screaming for an alternative to passwords for years,” said Jim Reno, chief security architect for CA’s security business.

“With the focus from the FIDO Alliance and the participation of industry leaders such as CA, we will deliver the specifications that offer a viable alternative to passwords and strive for zero-friction when authenticating users,” Reno added.

The consortium’s board of directors includes ARM Holdings, BlackBerry, Microsoft, Google, RSA and Synaptics.
