IBMlogo3 EbizIBM has launched a new threat protection software designed to help customers block hackers that attempt to access desktops, laptops and other endpoint computing devices.

The Trusteer Apex platform is built with behavioral analytics and security intelligence tools and aims to disrupt cyber threats throughout the entire attack lifecycle, IBM said Wednesday.

“Through extensive research, IBM has identified specific stages of the attack chain where cyber criminals have relatively few options to execute their malicious content,” said Yaron Dycian, vice president of marketing, products and services at IBM’s Trusteer division.

“Our strategic chokepoint technology introduces a fresh approach for breaking the threat lifecycle and preempting cyber attacks,” Dycian added.

The company designed Apex to identify untrusted Java applications and prevent malicious threats from accessing endpoint systems across an enterprise.

The technology also works to stop employees’ reuse of corporate credentials, passwords and email accounts on untrusted websites, according to IBM.

IBM offers a threat analysis service to help organizations examine malicious activities and develop measures to address security risks.
