AT&T‘s government solutions segment has received a five-year, $275 million task order from the State Department for IP telephony systems at U.S. embassies and consulate offices around the world.

The task order under the Foreign Post Telephone Replacement Program was awarded via State’s GSA Connections II indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle, AT&T said Monday.

“AT&T Government Solutions is proud to serve the U.S. Department of State as it deploys leading-edge communications technologies that will serve as a critical resource in its diplomatic missions worldwide,” said Kay Kapoor, president of AT&T Government Solutions.

The company added that it will provide approximately 300 embassies and consulates with the IP telephony systems as well as personnel to perform the installation, integration and testing of those systems.
