KBR has received a contract from Hyundai Heavy Industries to design an offshore oilfield in the United Arab Emirates for an undisclosed sum, ARCWeb reported Monday.
Tim Shea writes that KBR will provide engineering design services for Package 2 of the three-phase Al-Nasr full field development project, located 80 miles northwest of the capital Abu Dhabi in the Arabian Gulf.
The Houston-based engineering, procurement and construction company will also render support services to the facility through its Singapore office, the report added.
Al-Nasr Package 2 super complex will house the offshore facility’s accommodations, utilities, flares, bridges, power distribution and central processing hub.
Shea’s report notes that the Al-Nasr facility’s stakeholders expect the oilfield to yield 65,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
