HPHewlett Packard has landed a five-year, $50 million contract to continue helping the Massachusetts Executive Office of Human and Health Services maintain the state’s Medicaid management information system.

HP will continue to support the state Medicaid MIS infrastructure through June 2019 and will perform system upgrades to help agency personnel monitor providers’ e-health incentives, the company said Oct. 14.

Massachusetts’ HP-built interChange MMIS processes Medicaid benefits for more than 2.2 million beneficiaries across the state, according to HP.

“We look forward to building on our past success by implementing system upgrades that will enable the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to continue its healthcare transformation well into the future,” said Susan Arthur, vice president for U.S. health and life sciences industry at HP Enterprise Services.

The MMIS is designed with a web-based medical assistance provider incentive repository tool and a technology for users to manage electronic payments, enterprise identity management and healthcare records.

HP developed the MAPIR app to help EOHHS personnel administer federal incentives for healthcare providers that have adopted electronic health record systems.
