Raytheon said Monday Norwegian, Swiss, Turkish and Finnish armed forces launched five AIM-120C7 medium range air-to-air missiles during the Thor’s Hammer exercise.

The AMRAAMs hit their targets after they were fired from F-16 and F/A18 planes and from National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System mobility and canister launchers, according to Raytheon.

“Intercepting all five targets from different platforms showcased AMRAAM’s versatility across different scenarios for U.S. and allied forces worldwide,” said Mike Jarrett, vice president of air warfare systems at Raytheon.

AMRAAM is used by 36 countries and designed to integrate with F-4, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-22, Typhoon, Gripen, Tornado, Harrier and Joint Strike Fighter aircraft platforms.

The company says it has provided more than 70 NASAMS fire units to seven international customers through a partnership with Kongsberg.
