Andrew Harsch, director of product and portfolio management at Unisys, observed that organizations are shifting away from metrics toward analytics for business management.

In an interview published Friday on Unisys’ website, Harsch said analytics technology can help companies turn data into action and better manage services.

“Data is key to ensuring the continuity of the business, the productivity of the end users,” he added.

He explained that Unisys works with enterprise clients to capture and process macro data in order to identify service delivery issues.

“Is the service down or is it slow and is it slow due to a sudden or predicted increase in usage. All of this data needs to be processed but in hindsight and real time to keep the ‘it factory’ operating at peak efficiency.”

The company also applies a resolution optimization strategy known as ProAct and predictive analytics models to help clients meet their business goals, according to Harsch.
