Maximus CEO Richard Montoni has told a PwC survey that the company’s growth is geared toward geographic expansion as it works to strengthen its focus on its health and human services portfolio.
“We believe that focus allows you to differentiate yourself in the marketplace and to achieve things that other folks who are very diversified can’t,” he said in an interview for PwC’s 2015 U.S. CEO survey.
As Maximus expands across the U.S., Australia, Canada, Saudi Arabia and the U.K., Montoni noted that the company also will need a diversified workforce to establish “relatability” with customers.
He said Maximus utilizes a recruitment approach that also considers individuals who are part of the local community or social causes that the company serves.
He also sees a continued need for business alliances or partnerships to fulfill larger, more complex programs.
“[What] really sets the table for that future CEO [is] to give some thought to how you attract the right resources to execute on that increasing demand, and then how you attract, motivate, and reward those resources to fulfill that demand,” Montoni added.
